DDG PUPDATE: May 3rd, 2018
We want to make all clients aware we have had a few cases of Kennel Cough & Upper Respiratory Infections diagnosed in dogs that have been in our facility within the last 2 weeks. We see hundreds of dogs weekly and currently have just the 6 cases we have been made aware of.
We are diligent in doing our best to keep the facility clean and safe but want to make sure you all are aware. There is much confusion as to why a dog has gotten kennel cough or why we should be concerned since they are vaccinated.
The Kennel Cough vaccine is NOT 100% full proof, it is similar to a human Flu vaccine as in it only protects against the top few strains. Many vets do not pass this on to clients leaving them thinking they are 100% protected.
If you notice any signs in your dog such as coughing, sneezing, gagging, runny nose please DO NOT bring them over. We will be sending home any dogs exhibiting any of these symptoms.
Again we do our very best to protect our dogs and yours. We do NOT take in sick dogs. However, we are similar to human school and work environments; where a cold or flu can easily be spread before symptoms are present. A dog with no symptoms can bring this in to our facility. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
