Why Buy Overpriced Dog Toothpaste?
It’s true! Why should you buy over-priced, over-processed, chemically laced dog toothpaste when you can make your own homemade dog toothpaste for pennies? Not only the cost but the understanding of what is being used to make the toothpaste! When you use only a handful of natural ingredients, you just know it’s better for your pet.
Instructions on Making Homemade Dog Toothpaste
These are simple instructions with a handful of ingredients. Most you’ll have readily available, plus we add in a few optional components like fresh mint leaves and beef/chicken/vegetable bullion. If you’re fortunate enough to have a home garden and are growing fresh parsley and mint, you can easily add these fresh herbs to the paste for an even fresher breath. Let’s make this toothpaste!
HOMEMADE DOG TOOTHPASTE INGREDIENTS
- Coconut Oil: 1/4 Cup
- Baking Soda: 3 Tablespoons
- Fine Sea Salt (NOT table salt): 1/2 Teaspoon
- Cinnamon: 1/2 Teaspoon
- Optional Taste: 6 sprigs of Parsley and/or 5 or 6 mint leaves (if adding mint leaves you’ll need to use a food processor.)
- Optional Taste: choose from 1/2 teaspoon of either:
- Beef Bullion, or
- Chicken Bullion, or
- Vegetable Bullion
ADDING OPTIONAL FRESH HERBS: Simply combine the ingredients together and let sit for an hour or so to form. If adding mint leaves or parsley (or both), you’ll need to use a food processor to really break down the leaves. Your toothpaste will turn a beautiful green so no need to panic.
ADDING OPTIONAL BEEF OR CHICKEN OR VEGETABLE BULLION: Be sure to break down the bullion cube into powder form. Doing so makes it simpler to add in to the coconut oil to break down.
