At DDG, we carry only the finest products, like the FURminator, for our guests. Whether it’s dog boarding, dog playgroups or our dog bath area we always strive to offer the best experience possible during your dog’s stay with us.
Why DDG Uses the FURminator
We offer this de-shedding brush in our dog bathing and self wash area to allow you to get a full deep clean and help de-shed your dog prior to leaving the facility. We feel it helps reduce the amount of hair in your car, your coats, your house and everywhere else dog hair winds up.
So not only is our full service dog wash area one of the best in the tri-cities, we also made it all-inclusive for self wash, and offer dog bathing services and use the deshedding tool at these self wash stations.
What is the FURminator?
If you’ve never used this product before, you’re in for a treat, especially if you hate vacuuming dog hair several times a week. The FURminator deShedding tool removes any coat that has shed from your dog’s skin. The undercoat hair is problem with shedding and typically the hair that you sweep up in your house, car, boat etc.
Since the FURminator deshedding tool doesn’t cut the hair of the topcoat, the undercoat is still able to breathe and regulate your pet’s body temperature. The undercoat of dog hair may shed, but can sometimes get trapped under the topcoat which can mat hair.
How often should I use the FURminator?
It’s recommended to use the FURminator deShedding Tool 1 to 2 times per week for roughly 10 to 20 minutes. During a heavy shedding season (fall/spring) you might need to use the de-shedding tool a few more times per month.
It also won’t cut your dog’s skin, but please read the directions carefully. You can get this tool at PetCo, Amazon or other retailer that caters to dog hygiene products. It comes in several sizes to accommodate different dog hair length.
When you’re at our dog bathing facility in Apple Valley, please stop in to take a tour and even try out the FURminator.
