At Dog Day Getaway, the health and safety of the dogs is our #1 priority. All dogs are screened to ensure that they meet our health and personality guidelines. This type of facility may not be for all dogs and Dog Day Getaway reserves the right not to admit any dog based on level of sociability.

All dogs must complete and pass our free 4 hour orientation. This gives us a chance to ensure that all the dogs that come to play or stay with us are a good fit for this type of environment.

Pet Health

Dogs must have documented proof of the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella (kennel cough). Dogs that are 7 months or older must be spayed or neutered.

Dogs must be on a regular flea and tick preventative as well as a heart worm preventative.

We also highly recommend getting a Lepto vaccine for your dog as well.

If your dog is showing signs of illness like coughing, sneezing, diarrhea or any other concerning symptoms, DDG would like you to keep your dog at home for the safety of the entire facility.

Dogs must be social, friendly and enjoy being around other dogs. Dogs must be non-aggressive and not exhibit signs of prey drive or have resource guarding issues.


To ensure safety while at play, all dogs playing/staying in our facility are required to have on a quick release collar. Quick release harnesses are accepted. If your dog doesn’t come in the correct collar, one will be provided for them at the owners expense. No buckle or martingale collars are allowed. Quick release collars are available for purchase within the facility.

Dog Day Getaway Reservations

Dog Daycare & Boarding reservations are required. Calling ahead will ensure that we are also adequately staffed to best care for your pets. Orientations and facility tours must be scheduled ahead of time as well.


We are closed for daycare as well as boarding pick ups and drop offs on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

All holiday boarding reservations require a 50% deposit. If a holiday reservation needs to be canceled or altered it needs to be done 7 days prior to the first day of the stay or the deposit will not be refunded. This policy ensures that everyone who wants to stay with us over these time periods has every opportunity to do so.

Please plan accordingly since we will book full well in advance. In addition to all major holidays, Spring Break and MEA are considered holiday periods that our cancellation requirements are enforced.

Day Care and Boarding Cancellations

Daycare and boarding cancellations can be made by simply calling or emailing to let us know. We are happy to work with your scheduling needs. A boarding deposit will not be refunded on any holiday boarding reservation that is canceled less than 7 days before the stay begins.
